The Anesthesia Problem
Current anesthesia devices lack the closed-loop design and filter capacity needed for anesthesia providers to effectively administer multiple products of variable viscosity with the highest level of safety. With alternative methods of manifold assembly of medications, these lack the air purge feature and therefore require the need for pre-priming of each access port. The workflow challenge involves multiple steps that must be executed in a rapid sequence with many non-integrated devices while managing multiple medications. There is increasing evidence that noncompliance is a root cause for serious infections that can compromise the quality of patient care.
Single or dual access port IV sets lack the efficient ability to be pre-assembled prior to the patient arriving to the anesthesia administration area.
Common IV access ports do not typically have check valves, which can lead to retrograde IV fluid dilution or co-mixing of medications.
Our Solution*
Anesthesia is hard-pressed to meet performance, compliance, and safety requirements due to the rapid sequencing of multiple induction medications, proper cleaning of every port between every medication are not feasible due to time constraints, thus not every IV anesthetic is able to meet the proper standards set by the regulatory or accrediting bodies.
