HAI Solutions has launched the QIKulator, a free online tool that helps value analysis committees model the cost and potential return of the QIKcap System for their own facility.
The QIKulator takes five inputs, each one visible and adjustable so a committee can test its own assumptions:
Enrolled beds
Baseline CABSI rate per 1,000 line-days
Central-line utilization
Share of CABSIs that are connector-related
Assumed reduction of those events
From these it shows the annual subscription cost at $89 per bed per month, expected CABSIs per year, the breakeven number of CABSIs prevented, and the scenario's avoided cost and net result. Every formula is shown on the page.
The reduction figure is the committee's own scenario input, not a product claim. A correlation between QIKcap and clinical infection outcomes has not been established.
