CARLSBAD, Calif. — HAI Solutions today announced QIKswab™, a pre-moistened, single-use swab for device disinfection before accessing an IV port or needleless connector.
Each QIKswab is a soft 4 × 8 cm non-woven swab saturated with 1 mL of 3.15% chlorhexidine gluconate and 70% isopropyl alcohol, the same active combination used in leading skin antisepsis products. It is formulated for a fast, 5-second scrub technique and sealed in an individual easy-peel foil pouch.
QIKswab comes in strips that hang on an IV pole, cart or supply bin, so a swab is at hand at every access:
QSB-2: 2 swabs per strip, 50 strips per box (100 swabs)
QSB-6: 6 swabs per strip, 20 strips per box (120 swabs)
QIKswab supports the connector disinfection practices recommended by APIC and SHEA/IDSA/APIC, and pairs with the QIKcap System for a complete scrub, cap and UV-C workflow. QIKswab is an FDA listed / registered establishment product and is for external device disinfection only.
